From Oberissalm
Started hiking at 5 from the Oberissalm, passing by the Franz-Senn-Hütte, on the summit somewhere around 10:30. Beautiful day. Hard frozen glacier in the morning, getting sloppy (and very hot) on the way down.
Ordered too much food in the hut, felt a little sick and headachy. Shade near the car was required!

from Franz-Senn hut
nice and long tour, took the direct path (WSW, some ropes) from the glacier. Took the (long) SSW ridge for descent.

Ski tour
Ruderhofspitze via Alpeiner Ferner, very nice skitour
Traverse over beautiful Ruderhofferner (up) and "normal route" (i.e. via Alpeiner Ferner to Franz-Senn-hut) down.
Started 14th at Regensburger hut, bivied in upper Ruderhof at ~2780m, ascent 6:30 to 10 o'clock about (early ascent essential because of early rockfall).
Happy conditions because flawless weather after a period of cold and snowfall.
Route Climbed: By ski from south Date Climbed: April 1991, May 2004
As Thomas describes in his log. If icy this quite steep slope is not for beginners on ski. I have seen pictures of this slope from 1960 where it seemed to be much easier (i.e. there was only snow but no rock). The small glacier has melt a lot the last decades.
Added June 2004: Failed 300m below summit end of May 2004. Too dangerous this time due to much snow this year (avalanches). Seems the small upper glacier has melt a lot the last decadeand has become less steep today.
Route Climbed: Normal route Date Climbed: 26 august 2001
From Franz-Senn-Hut to the glacier we didn't meet anyone. Later a few people, but nothing compared to the crowds on more famous Stubai peaks.
Conditions on the glacier were a bit icy and in the afternoon, lots of small streams of water were running on the ice surface. The ridge was snow free.

Route Climbed: South Face, From Mutterbergalm, On SkisA demanding and very rewarding climb on skis, with Wolfgang. There's a very steep bit between 3,100 and 3,200 m. We had to take off the skis there.
