Autumn
I climbed with Sene on the normal route from South. On the top we waited for the sunset and went down to the renewed Rysy Hut.

Second Time Out
Climbed with my dad and my friend Thomas. The upper lake was frozen over and was completely snowed in the rest of the way up except for the last 100 meters. A few turned back, but we made it. A great hike/climb.

Attempt from Štrbské Pleso
Attempted Rysy in a snowstorm. After getting to the hut we could not find to the trail or see the peak--or anything for that matter. We descended. Saw some Russians coming down the icy descent in jeans and tennis shoes and taping ripped ponchos onto themselves. A nice day with a dissapointing result.

Nice hike from Morski Oko
Started early from the chalet. Very nice mountain hut but crowded during the day. In three hours to the summit. It was good to be there early before the crowds arrived. Great hike, first past the two lakes then up the rocks. Amazing views. We were in Krakau by evening.

My first, best climb
Hiked with my buddy Kevin and his wife back when we all lived as teachers in Poland. I was just getting into mountain hiking and wanted to start with something manageable but this was a doozy. I almost bit off more than I could chew. From Zakopane it is definitely a full day up and back. Don't bother with the horse ride up to Morskie Oko, it is slow and very uncomfortable. The top was crowded and I was bushed, but we made it down before nightfall. Overall an awesome experience, still waiting to tackle my next national high point.

... so far for me, happy memories, ascent from Morskie Oko, return by slovak side of Tatry. beautiful weather, snowy and funny and loooong trip.
Stayed overnight at Schronisko Morskie Okum and was on the hill for 0730, peaking around midday after several stops to take in the splendid views all around. Descent was a bit of a slog and heavy rain added to the fun but 3 hours later we were sharing a bottle of Malt in the comfort of the hut.

Tourist Trail
Up the tourist trail from Roztoki, past Morskie Oko. Very crowded but still beautiful.
West face (Zapadna Stena) - 2009/12/28
Right side of the west face. Very interesting route, however climbed in not very pleasant snow and weather conditions.
Climbed with Igi, Jck, Brade and Mateusz.

Rysa couloir (winter route) - 2008/06/14
Starting from Morskie Oko Hut, taking the regular summer route from Czarny Staw lake. Just above Bula pod Rysami turning a bit right to enter directly a winter route alongside Rysa couloir. Late spring weather, but very good snow conditions in the couloir. Interesting alternative, but quite risky: quite a lot of people, not very good prepared (regarding winter equipment).

Rather quick ascent in fair weather. Anyway it was a nice day out.

Great ascent via the face which is not very popular. Took the right side of the face, then traversed to the middle and straight to the main summit. Steep ice, nasty snow, problematic protection. Nobody on the mountain, bad visibility. Descended through Chata pod Rysmi. Climbed with: Radek (brade), Ania (Mooliczek), Igor (Igi) and Mateusz.

From Morskie Oko and back- 7 August 1997
Bad weather. I was 13 years old. We statred from Lysa Polana at 5 o'clock and we came back about 3 p.m. A little snow on the trail but not causing any problems.

Classic approach from Popradske PlesoVery overcrowded rock, shall be avoided in July-August. Very nice view from the top however.
