Sacred Datura (<i>Datura wrightii</i>)

Sacred Datura (Datura wrightii)

Close-up of the flower of Sacred Datura. Most parts of the plant contain toxic hallucinogens, and Datura has a long history of use for causing delirious states and death. It was well known as an essential ingredient of love potions and witches' brews. Seen in Panamint Valley on Trona-Wildrose Road near Ballarat. April 18, 2010
