Middle Cottonwood, chilly up there
Hiked from Middle Cottonwood. Lots of parties up there, including a group of 4 guys in their 80s climbing up! Impressive. Hiked with girlfriend and dog. Only a little snow ascending the west side, but very cold and windy once we got above tree line.

Middle Cottonwood
Started from the trailhead at 4pm and reached the summit around 6:15. Knee deep snow in some spots on north west face. Should have brought crampons and gaiters. Back at the car by 8pm.
Rode the chair to the ridge and hiked the rest of the way.

Nice spring day
This dry season allowed me to summit this peak in just a few hours from Middle Cottonwood TH. Final 1700 feet the trail was covered in the fresh snow that fell last week. I scrambled up a small ridge that met up with the west ridge of the peak and post-holed up to the summit. Views of Ross Peak from the top were spectacular. Plunging back down to the trail was super quick sans navigating a huge cornice at the saddle.
Hiked class 2 to summit from Middle Cottonwood TH. Pleasant area. Lots of water and, I think, 8 easy stream crossings on lower section. Plenty of water available on this hike. Starts at 5676 feet and ends at 9162. Great views. Summit to myself on this Monday morning.

Climbed from Middle Cottonwood
Made it to the top after trudging through some waist-chest deep snow the last mile or so. Didn't see any footprints after reaching the saddle below the final ascent.
Busy up top - tons of ridge runners prepping for their race later this summer. Lots of bugs, too

Fun hike
South face from Middle Cottonwood. Fun hike, some class 4 terrain in the last 500 feet, along with several snow fields. Gaiters recommended at this point in the season.

Beautiful Montana
Hiked with CBakwin. Great day. I'm not used to that deep snow since most of my hiking is in CA. But it was absolutely stunning when we reach the top. Got some nice shots that I'll have to post.
