This is just a short detour from San Bernardino Peak. I ran into only two people on the East Peak. The unencumbered view of San Gorgonio was pretty cool. I considered going the extra few miles to Anderson Peak, but didn't want to stretch my supplies and time. It would be fun to spend the day going around that divide trail (perhaps to/from the Anderson Flat campground).
Nice trail from Angelus Oaks.
Nice hike on a warm summer day, trail is long but enjoyable.
A group of 9 started from Angelus Oaks and bagged San Bernardino Peak, then San Bernardino East Peak before descending on the Momyer Creek Trail to Forest Falls.
Climbed San Bernardino Peak, S. Bernardino Pk East, Anderson, Alto Diablo, Little Charlton, Jepson and Gorgonio over the Memorial Day weekend. Trip video here: http://youtu.be/-29-ObWUHMk
Snow and great sunset!
One of four summits in a day on the San Bernardino Ridge. (Sheilds, Anderson, East and San Berdo) Took a personal day off of work to do this as a training hike for my upcoming Rainier attempt. Joined by Chris, Iain, and Tom.
up via san bernardino peak divide trail, then san bernardino, san bernardino east, anderson, shields, alto diablo, charlton, little charlton, san gorgonio, jepson, little dobbs, dobbs, and then down dobbs' west ridge to vivian creek trail and out.
9 peaks traverse
From Anderson, this one had really nice views!
San Gorgonio Peak Traverse: #2
hit sb and sb-east as part of a hps backpack up the sb peak divide trail. great trip and great views.
First ascent, added bonus to SB Peak the same day.
First overnighter, first time with a backpack, first time above 8,000 feet... first time for a lot of things. We took the Forsee Creek Trail and camped at Jackstraw Springs at 9,200 feet. That was already higher than I had been before in my life (outside of an airplane). The next day, we hiked to San Bernardino East Peak, had lunch on the top, and descended 3,800 feet back to the car.
Next up is San Gorgonio!
First peak of my San Bernardino Mountain ridge traverse from Forsee Creek. Fun summit atmosphere with about a dozen other folks doing the 9 Peak traverse. Beautiful, enjoyable hike! Cool, safe water flowing from Trail Fork Spring too.
Dayhike/scramble from Moymer trailhead. Temps were ridiculously warm for April, snow hadn't frozen up high in a couple of days.
San Bernardino Peak / East - nice early morning climb.
Nice hike with San Bernardino Peak.
The first peak of a very enjoyable 5-peak tour including SB, Anderson, Shields, & Alto Diablo. Nice views on this peak.
