I did a dayhike with a friend, climbed up to the Washington "monument" which is wery close to the summit, the only reason why I didn't summit -I think this was the first time when I had to turn back without reaching the summit-it was the time ,we had to make it back before sunset, besides my friend considered that we are high enough,he was really tired. However I had a flashlight with me but I know how hard is to follow the trail in the dark.We barely made it!

What Glenn said below... the trail down from San Bernardino peak was scenic for a while, but just seemed to go on forever for the last couple of miles.

Last peak of the nine peaks trail. The last eight miles down from the peak seemed like they'd never end.

Hiked San Bernardino Peak with my wife. It was a great outing. Spent the night at Limber Pine Bench. Very windy. In the morning, everything was thickly covered with frost. Amazing and beautiful.

A nice winter snow hike with fellow SP member kdonaldson. We started hiking at 7:50am. Took a nice, long rest and early lunch close to the Manzanita Springs trail junction around 10:30am. Then, we had to break trail from 8400 feet all the way to the summit. We stopped at Limber Pine Bench for a short break. We then followed the summer trail to reach Washington Monument (10,290'). Took another break here, and a half hour later we stood on the summit at 2:20pm. Took us around 6.5 hours----longer than we expected due to breaking trail on recent snow. Left the summit at 3:00pm and we hiked the last 45 minutes by headlamp, making it back to the Angelus Oaks trailhead at 5:50pm. We then drove to Daphne's Greek Cafe in Ontario for gyros.
