Easy one! Cool towers up top and great SF views.
Part of my peakbagging extravaganza that took me from SF to Mt Bielewski. Enjoyable hour-long hike.
Great run from nearby airport hotel. Whenever I'm overnighting at San Francisco Intl, I'll take a cab to the far end and run the ridgeline.
Quickie climb after a nearby work meeting.
Hiked this many times over the years.
Loved the Eucalyptus forest at the start.
San Bruno, Twin Peaks and Scarper Peak on the day - for San Bruno I did the Summit Loop, connecting with the Ridge trail and then going up to the platform on the summit. Wound up a total of 4 miles. Pleasant outing. TR is HERE.
Fogged in. Thick at top. Rain at top. Have to have a word with Mission Control. Still, a wonderful adventure with my sister Annette.
Nice hike with great views.
Pleasant quickie with lousy summit.
First hike after moving to the Bay area.
A great quick local hike for views and wildflowers in the spring.
Easy hike with son Ryan. Trip Report
in the 90's. Afternoon workout hikes after working on the Peninsula.
A easy 3 mile Loop.
Rode my bike to the highest point in the road. Didn't venture off the road to find the true highpoint, I'm sure I'll be back eventually. It was a smoky and very windy day.
Did this hike with david, rad, and al pine. Then went up Sweeney Ridge and we all scootered down it at breakneck speeds (literally breakneck, al pine fell down and broke his neck). Also, a dog chased david for about a mile and then bit his leg off. It was a really fun day!
Hiked up in 20 mins form the parking lot via the "Direct" trail with Rad, Al, and Ben. T'was a very clear day, and you could see the Farallones. We then drove over to Sweeney Ridge above Pacifica to have a look at the NIKE missile base up there, scootered down the road, and then proceeded to stuff our faces at Fresh Choice in South SF.
Ridge trail offers some fantastic views of the city. Mt. Tam, Diablo, Davidson and endless views of the ocean and bay will reward those going on a clear day.
I swear that this isn't some desperation move to up my summit count at SP! I wanted this hill, I admit it, so I picked the most abnoxious line I could see as it was my birthday and that was through a cemetary, though heavy bushwack, though a mucky ravine, up 80 ft. of class 3 rock!, though more bushwhack, then some more class three rock and bushwhack to summit. You can see the rock sections from 280 so I'm not full of it. Strangest thing of all: when I was half way, in deep brambles of poison oak and buck brush, I found an old barbie doll, and from the way she was dressed, it must have been from 1975. Dropped by a bird or by aliens? The descent was more direct, but I did have to exit though the city dump. Happy Birthday to me :)
