Prominent Front Range Peak

Excellent views of surrounding peaks and basin. Cleared the trail of huge amounts of Poodle Dog Bush, peak 1 of 3 for the day.

great night hike  Sucess!

It was awesome the time I went with a buddy up to the top of this peak at night. The view of the lights of the valley is incredible. The LA basin looks amazing at night, its easy to forget what a *!#%hole it really is down there.

San Gab & Dis  Sucess!

Hiked with my Mom and my cousin Justine. Great views from atop of San Gabriel Peak. 3/4 of the hike was in snow, to make it even more exciting!

5 islands a sunset and moonrise  Sucess!

Due to some warm Santa Anas and clear skies, I could clearly see 5 Channel Islands (including Catalina). Could also see San Clemente, Santa Barbara, San Nicolas, and Santa Cruz. Anacapa must have been visible as well but not easy to distinguish from Santa Cruz. It was nearly a full moon, so just after the sunset I watched the moon rise. Definitely didn't need a flashlight on the way down.

Via Echo Mtn trail  Sucess!

Hiked this one from the Sam Merrill trail head on Lake Ave. Started hitting snow at about 4000' and it got serious at Markum saddle. Lots of daylight burned by breaking trail through upwards of 2' snow drifts to the top of San Gabriel. Did Disappointment and Lowe before descending down by sunset.

snow at the top  Sucess!

My wife and I (with our dog - badger) hit Mt. Lowe, San Gabriel Peak and Mt. Dissappointment today. Great hike from Eaton Saddle. The upper slopes were snow covered still, but you could hike with a light jacket. There were a couple of sketchy sections along the trail were the snow was really compacted and icy. Trekking poles helped. Great views...Baldy was all snowy.

Cloudy, cold and wet  Sucess!

Hiked to the top after we did Mt. Markham and it was cloudy, cold and it was trying to rain. Fun hike though and it was nice to get out there and do some peaks I've never done before.

San Gabriel with my Daughter  Sucess!

Hit Disapointment and San Gabriel today, with my daugter on my back. We both signned the log in zip lock bags (won't survive the winter well). The best view I had ever seen, you could see the ocean clearly, Catalina and the other islands as well. Amazing.

My 25th HPS Peak.
