Vivian Creek - epic day
Second attempt, made it to the summit. My friend and I got our permit at 8:00 and started on the trail at 8:45am. Made it back to the car in the dark around 8:15pm. 11.5 hours - the last 4 hours were a brutal slog down.
We did save some time by putting on crampons and going directly up the snowy headwall after High Creek. I would have worn trail running shoes instead of mountaineering boots next time. Hardly any snow other than this section and the summit.

Vivian Creek Solo
Fun day hike, cruised up in a couple of hours. Solo hike=haul ass for me, only saw one other person (the guy who climbs it every tuesday morning). Felt good to cross this one off the list.

Vivian Creek
Day hike from Vivian Creek. I think it is one of the best trainers for Mt. Whitney.

Ran out of time
Attempted from Vivian Creek; we had originally planned to overnight it, but didn't have permits. We got a late start and only got to around 10,000 feet (snow level was about 9000'), but still a great hike.

Many visits, only one sign in
I've done this peak too many times to even count but I better sign it in just once. Summit registers shouldn't be this easy to reach :) Love this peak, trying not to wear it out. I like the dayhike version best.
Hiked the Fish Creek route. Great day hike. Somewhat strenuous. Trail's in good condition. Took about 8 hours. Great views!

South Fork Trail
2nd time to the summit. Last time was in the snow so this was a lot different than last time. Be ready to bring enough water as there is none really to speak of.

9 peaks challenge
Last peak in 9 peak challenge done over Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful weather at the top, a few patches of snow still left around. I completed 7 of the 9 peaks, my wife did 8 of them and 2 of our friends each did 7. Limber Pine Spring was still flowing (we camped there first night). Trip video here: http://youtu.be/-29-ObWUHMk

Tough Hike
3rd time I have been up this mountain, and it had to be the most difficult one. In the past I have always just did the climb in one day. This time we camped and had to a haul way too much stuff.

SEEING TRAILS
Led a group of 10 hikers from the SEEING TRAILS HIKE GANG as an overnight backpacking trip via the South Fork Trail. We went a few days after San G received it's earliest snow fall on record and during the Government shut down. Given these obstacles, everything went very smoothly and even the completely unexperienced had no issues on the trail at all. Amazing.

Harder than Whitney in a day
This was one of our last training hikes to prepare for Mt. Whitney in a day and I thought that this peak via Vivian Creek was harder than Whitney in a day. The summit was incredible, however. We got buzzed by a glider which was really cool.

Many miles
According to my GPS this turned out to be more miles than any book I had read. Almost missed my plane back to Utah.
