Route Climbed: Cactus to Couds to San Jacinto Date Climbed: October 15 - 2005
12 of us from the Sierra Club reached the summit in 12 hours starting at midnight in Palm Springs. The elevation gain was 10,500 ft in 16 miles plus five more back to the tram station. The wind on top was ferocious.
From Snow Creek with thousands of feet of neve, from Black Canyon camp as day hikes, from Humber Park /Devil's Slide trail as day hikes, from the tram. Once, in winter, when there was actually snow in the plams of the town of Banning, we had a wonderful powder day off the summit.
Route Climbed: Round Vally Trail Date Climbed: 8th Oct. 2005
This was an excellent peak to get back in shape after a two month layoff! First time up to San Jacinto. Funny the drive to the peak took longer than the peak itself. The sign posts say it's 5.8 one way but I think this is too long, the actual distance must be shorter. I was able to get up and back in 3.5 hours though a maze of people on the trail. It felt good to get my confidence back by laying waste to one of these10K'ers every now and then!
Route Climbed: devils slide / PCT Date Climbed: 8/25/01
After a night in Palm Desert we drove to Idyllwild and hit the Humber park trail head at 7 am and blazed up Devils Slide. The hike was fairly uneventful although hiking the PCT is a wonderful experience. It is well groomed and marked. We knocked this one off in about 9 hours.

The final mountain on the 8000m Challenge, So Cal Triple Crown. An exhausted trudge up what is a very mellow trail on a beautiful Thur afternoon/evening.
Route Climbed: Marion Mountain Trail Date Climbed: 10 September 2005
Beautiful day for a trip to the summit. Started from Marion Mtn. campground at 7:40 AM, reached the summit exactly 4 hours later without seeing a single soul the entire way up. The top was not too crowded, but it was pretty windy and pretty cold. Took 2.5 hours to return to the car. Loads of "Red Hot Sally" in bloom along the trail, and the streams are running pretty well. The last time I summited San Jacinto (about 7 years ago) it was a lousy experience with lots of snow and altitude sickness. Today was a different world ---- 25 pounds lighter and no snow, and no altitude sickness.
Route Climbed: Round Valley via tram/exit Humber park Date Climbed: August 20, 2005
A gorgeous day to be on the mountain. My sister stood in as my partner for this , so we decided to start from Mountain Station. Wonderful vistas from Wellman Divide and the summit. Took our time getting to the summit, then hiked down in earnest to get out via Humber Park before dark! Ended up using my headlight anyway. Next time I'm out there, I'm doin' San Gorgonio!
Route Climbed: Round valley Date Climbed: August 7 2005
Perfect temp at the beginning of our trip at 8.45 it was 62 degrees, it never got above 80 and the only real bummer was clouds obscuring my view on the summit, and it rained on us for the first main switchbacks on the decend,a long hike down. But man we Had a blast! Thanks to my master guide and buddy Ben.
Route Climbed: round valley Date Climbed: july 22 2005
made the summit in 2 hours via the round valley trail. Took the first tram up at 1000 AM. Only saw 3 other groups attempting the summit on the trip. Large thunder storm just north comming out of Hemet at noon. Seven to eight lightning strikes and some rain. We didn't stay on the summit for any length of time. The heavy stuff staying to the north. Fun trip easy trail, my first time to San Jacinto and I've lived in So. Cal all my life.

Storm came out of nowhere on the way down, so we were running through the clouds and a very heavy rain. Sunny at the trailhead though. Beautiful!
P.S. Don't forget bug repellent!!
