San Jacinto Peak  Sucess!

Incredible and exhausting climb through Deer Springs Trail. Very few hikers and the thunder storms that day were great to watch.

Let it Snow, let it snow...  Sucess!

climbed via standard route. Deep snow into and through round v, but thinned out near the top. Going was pretty slow as I started postholing as it got a little warmer. It's still such a cool thing to be in knee deep snow with Palm Springs already 90 just a short distance below.

Long!  Sucess!

Climbed from Fuller Ridge. This was a very long hike but well worth it. Given how hot it was at 10000 feet I can only imagine what it was like down in the valley. Hazy views but mountains poking through the haze still quite scenic...Gorgonio across the valley tempts me with another climb!

Via the Tram  Sucess!

Pretty crowded, even in March. A little bit of snow to cross, but otherwise an enjoyable day. My wife's first long hike in I don't know how long, but she did great!

2 memorable hikes and 1 unforgettable  Sucess!

I attempted the Cactus-to-Clouds on July 4, 2001. Starting at 12pm with 2L of water, I ran into trouble when the water was drained a couple miles in. The attempt failed when I finally reached the tram station but was too tired and thirsty to talk. A couple weeks later with more water and an earlier start made all the difference. In March 05, I climbed the mountain from Idyllwild and summitted around 10am before traversing over to Marion, Jean, Folly, and Drury. Then returned to the car before dawn.

Marion Mt Trail  Sucess!

Fun day out, although we were hoping for slightly more winter-like conditions!

San Jack  Sucess!

Love this peak. The first time i didn't like it cause I couldn't see the view. Theron and I combined Cornell on these trips. Done two or three times. Theron will set it straight cause he knows more about my hikes than I do. I am dumb.

Tag....You're It!  Sucess!

Damn the hoards!! This peak was getting abused by the loads of people coming up. Tagged this one as a pre-Sierra Challenge circuit, hitting up 4 peaks along the way. Humber Park to Marion Mtn to Peak 10,386 to Jean Peak to Mt San Jacinto to Humber Park: 7 hours 15 min

two summits, 30 years apart  Sucess!

Summited in 75 with the boy scouts in late spring, with decent snow pack. Summited again in 2005. Great summit.

Bloody Feet  Sucess!

I'm always successful. One of the many summits done with Theron, this one also included Cornell once again. I killed my feet and vowed never to climb Cornell with San Jack ever again.

A Beautiful Snowy Summit  Sucess!

We started in Idyllwild at the Deer Springs Trail head, camped at Little Round Valley, and woke up to rain the next morning. We went on up to the summit, during which time it turned to snow, and came down on the east side between Miller Peak and Jean Peak, through Wellman Divide to the Pacific Crest Trail and back to the Deer Springs Trail.

Round Valley  Sucess!

I cannot get over how much I enjoyed this easy outing. An absolutely stunning mountain with incredible scenery. We started early and had the trail more or less to ourselves...both directions!

winter hike  Sucess!

Went from Deer Springs trailhead. First half snow free. Later on snow knee deep, nice to have snowshoes for about 2 miles of the trail if you are there in late afternoon and instep crampons (might or might not be used) for early morning... I wish tehre was more snow... Not too many tracks, compas and map might come handy if you do not know the area...

Good winter hike  Sucess!

Penelope and I hiked the San Jac from the Marion Mtn. trailhead on January 25, 2007. We lost the trail soon after the intersection with Deer Springs Tr. and navigated the NW bowl more or less by recollection with some help of Compass and map. The bowl was mid calf deep snow and slowed us down a bit. RT from the trailhead took us just under 10 hours. Good conditioning hike on a day off.
