started at the museum and did the Skyline Trail to the tram station. what a workout!
no time to continue on to the summit.
climbed my times thru the years via tram and snow creek.
Day hiked with great group of guys - Miguel, Paul, Ron, Steve, Alex, Gene and my man Dave. Summitted in 12 hours and had beer in hand soon after. Kudos to Miguel for keeping us on track before sunrise and pushing the pace.
Climbed up via Snow Creek. Great day and great climb, very tiring, but well worth it. Thanks Miguel for putting it together!
Hiked with my Dad and John. Although pretty congested with other hikers, it was a great achievement. No views, due to the cloud cover.
Beautifull day of climbing via Snow Creek with Miguel and Jon. We day hiked it and I made it to the summit in just under 12 hours. Lots of tracks due to the rescue up there the day before. It's hard to believe there is such an unbelievable alpine climb so close to home. I will definatly be doing this climb again.
Went up the ridge between cornell and miller, hit miller then went on to san jac. It was a brutal hike and it was HOT! but it was worth it. Snow was mush so it was hard hiking/snowshoeing but glissaded down from the top and it was pretty sweet :)
I have reached the summit twice to date, once in 1970 from Humber Park and the second time along Fuller Ridge. The later route is extremely nice traversing along the ridge with views of Coachella Valley.
When the snow clears, goal is the summit from Palm springs via the skyline trail.
Hiked from the museum parking lot up to 4,000 ft elevation. How many places around here can you climb 3,500+ vertical feet and only be one-third of the way to the summit?
Finally completed C2C, 12 hours flat from the Museum.
Been up on this one several times. Made this Peak from the Marion Mountain Trail and my favorite from the tram.
From the tram on a cloudy day. Lots of Boy Scouts on trail. Great feeling being on top, too bad the clouds spoiled the view.
did C2C with group of 9. awesome hike
Went up from the Marion Mtn TH. Big mistake leaving the crampons in the car as the trail was very icy above '8600 or so. Overall another great day on SJ.
100 degrees on the desert floor snow at 10,000 feet! This mountain is a fun hike from the top of the tram. Talk bout some serious prominence!
Big day of hiking. Good times.
Coldest, windiest summit I've ever been on. Below freezing, 50 mph winds!
Cheated and took the tram. A great hike, rewarding views and much cooler than the valley floor.
0625 start from the museum. Topped out on the summit a little less than 9 hours later. This is a true classic.
