Harder drive than hike  Sucess!

4 X 4 up to the first picnic table and hiked the rest of the way to the NE summit. A little over 4 miles round trip.

The road had snow on it the last few miles, but was easy enough to follow.

28 Peaks in 15 Days  Sucess!

We did Toro and 2 sub-peaks plus Santa Rosa in the afternoon after Orocopia Mountain that morning. Afterward we drove over and tagged Thomas Mountain as well in the dark. The crux of Toro was driving up the icy road to park near the Santa Rosa saddle.

Other peaks we did during this trip include; Potosi, Cheyenne, Muddy Mountain, Muddy Peak, Virgin, The Orphan, Silica Dome, Cairn, The Sentinel, East Redstone, Redstone, Mystery Cairn, Vista, Hayford, Clark, McCullough, Spirit, Stepladder, Big Maria, False Maria, Black Butte, Chuckwalla, Pinto, Orocopia, Toro, and Thomas.

Nice view of Palm Desest  Sucess!

Easy and pretty straight forward hike. Nice to get out of the heat on the Bump and Grind or Art Smith Trails.

Santa Rosa Mountain  Sucess!

Recommend renting the SUV, and not the compact, if you intend to drive up this mountain.
