Good page ! I like the pictures.
Nice work here too. I came to check out if this mountain supported picea omorika but I guess you have to go east to Mount Tara? Fine pictures here
Thanks Mark! You are right, Picea Omorika grows much more towards east. I believe in eastern Bosnia and I'm certain in Serbia. If I remember well one can find it on Kopaonik mountain in Serbia. I guess on Tara and Zlatibor mountains also. On Sator, here in western Bosnia, I think Picea Abies is represented as is on Velebit.
Excellent. Cheers William
Beautiful area;...great page!
Nice area - nice page.
It makes me sad to hear about the landmines.
A beautiful area. Climbed Sator while in BiH with the British Army. The Photos have brought back some excellent memories.
According to the Mine-situation-map (Scale 1:400 000) from the Bosnia-Herzegovina Mine action center (map obtainable in Sarajevo) there are criss-crossing 2 former front-lines on the top of this mountain and there are 2 mined areas near the gravel-road which goes to the lake.
I advise the use of the mentioned map and also the book "Forgotten beauty" (detailed descriptions of BIH-mountains with special regard of the mine-situation) for any kind of outdoor-action in BIH.
