Very nice!

Dear Sarah, this was very enjoyable! I really like the pictures you took of this beautiful region, and the natural colors you let your pictures have! Congratulations and greetings from Austria,

Eric

Re: Very nice!

Eric,

Danke!

Thank you for the kind note! One of the things I like the most about SummitPost is learning about mountains all over the world. I do my best to share my little corner of the universe with this community.

PS: I have visited the lovely Danube and the fantastic city of Vienna, but have yet to visit the mountains of Austria. One of these days...

Re: Very nice!

Oh, and I HAVE visited the wonderful town of Salzburg. I giggled at all of the Mozart candies sold in all the stores.

We were coming down a narrow stone street dating to the Middle Ages and we heard...Andean Pipe Music. We thought: HUH?

Sure enough, we round a corner and there is a band of Peru natives playing music!

Ah, Europe!

Re: Very nice!

:-))) I love your description of Salzburg, dear Sarah - you really saw "behind the coulisses"!
There are a lot of street buskers from all over the world in Salzburg, especially in the warm seasons you'll hear andean, russian, even far east music being played in the Getreidegasse, on the Mozartplatz and in front of the cathedral. It's been part of the life here for already quite a few years. As to the whole Multi-Media-Mozart-Marketing with just everything from pencils up to T-shirts and back down to candy, that's a whole story on it's own...

You're very right in what you said concerning SummitPost - and you present your part of the world marvellously! Keep posting!

All the best to you, and warmest greetings,

Eric

Oh, by the way...

...what's the topic behind the epic (referring to that sign-post photo of yours)? ;-)

Re: Oh, by the way...

Eric,

Oh, I built the the "No Epics" sign:

http://www.summitpost.org/image/582503//no-epics.html

In Power Point then converted it to a JPG. It's just kind of a joke on those "epic days" in the mountains. In some ways, they can be challenging in a good way and provide great memories. However, sometimes "epic days" go terribly wrong and people get hurt and/or don't come home. As a result, my "no epics" pic is a joking way to ward off epic days in the mountains. :)
