Sawmill Basin from Mt. Ellen Peak. The snow was only a few inches deep in the sheltered spots of the basin. Some deeper drifts were occasionally present. Virtually snowless Abajos are visible on the horizon, just right of center. January 7, 2006

Not Sure... Hmmmmm..

Although Sawmill Basin looks similar to this photo, it is actually located north of Mt. Ellen. This photo was taken facing south, as evidenced by Gunsight Butte and the Abajos in the distance.
