Clear day but crowded route.
The via ferrata started promisingly enough, with about 30m of interesting class 4. Then there were the ladders, and after that it was all over except for the walking. Well, it was more interesting than the hiking route I guess. Got fogged in while still hiking up the valley, so I never really got to enjoy the magnificent views. Despite it all, a very worthwhile day.
Went up the Via Feratta route. Hiked through a cloud so we didn't get a great view from the top, but had amazing views on the way up.
Climbed the ferrata route on 8 inches of fresh snow. No gear, just cameras and food.
Some of the best views of the Jungfrau trilogy.
Nice and very rewarding hike (what a views!), but long (started at Hotel Wetterhorn (1230m), up to the Grosse Scheidegg and further till the Schwarzhorn).
Climbed this via SW ridge and the easy klettersteg there. Pleasant outing!
Nice hike, beautiful views..
Good hike, good view, good feeling.
Nice hike. Useful for acclimatization purposes
Climbed a few times, from deep snow, to the Klettersteig, which is always fun
The Klettersteig is a fun route, with 5 ladders that tackle a steep wall. We started quite late, and missed the last gondola of the day . It's a long steep hike back to Grindelwald.
Crappy foggy/rainy day. Had to turn back just before the peak.. Oh well, next time.
It was nice day :)
Nice easy climb with an absolutely superb view from the top.
Great route. Will come back I'm sure.
Climbed with Nigel and Mark, enjoyed the ladders!
Nice summit with potentially terrific views over the Berner Oberland. I had a little bit too much clouds for that, although the Schwarzhorn summit itself was clear. Anyway, it was a nice trip and I had a enjoyable day.
Did Schwarzhorn with a friend on the suggestion of Fred and Moni...thanks guys. Great day trip. Check out the trip report.
Climbed solo to the summit where I met Moni and a friend who had ascended via the normal route. Descended the normal route with them.
The Kletterstieg has too many ladders!!
