I, too, have hiked around this area numerous times. The summit is pretty cool, and it provides an excellent view in all directions--it's a great view of the Great Plains! A good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
I have been to this area as a youngster and I loved it! I drive close to this area every week and I hope to be back up to the monument. I love these great sandstone bluffs in our great plains!
Short hike of only 3.2 miles RT and about 425 feet of verticle gain. Perfect time of the year to climb; there were no bugs, the temperature was moderate, and the grass is still green!
