Seal Rock (center) and the...

Seal Rock (center) and the Goose (left) are the two prominent flatirons on the Nebel Horn. Bear Peak, the taller parent of most of the southern flatirons rises farther left. The main east-face route on the Seal follows the right-hand edge of the rock from the lowest point to the 'elbow'. From there, it follows a wonderful hand crack up the middle of the upper face through the 'eye' of the Seal. The exciting rappel goes down the shadowed north side off the tip of the Seal's nose. Where's the Goose?

This picture shows perfectly why the Seal got its name. Have you figured out why why the Goose is called so?

Never did figure that one out. I do know that the small slabs below the Goose are known as the Goose Eggs. Which came first, the Goose or the Goose Eggs?



The small slab below the Seal is apparently known as the Penguin. Hmm.
