The Sego Canyon site is not pristine, but it is in good shape considering its roadside location, and it exhibits works from several different cultures and which are hundreds to thousands of years old. Utah-- April 2006

Style?

I'm under the impression that these are called "Barrier Canyon Style". (Barrier Canyon is apparently an older name for Horseshoe Canyon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrier_Canyon

I associate the Fremont rock art more with the stuff in Ninemile Canyon or up by Vernal.

You might be right. There are several different styles on display at the Sego Canyon site, and I thought I remembered the signs there indicating these were from the Fremont people. However, I'm almost certain they're not Barrier Canyon-- although the body of the large figure resembles that style, the rest of the figures don't look much like the other Barrier Canyon works I saw here and elsewhere. Since I'm unsure, I'm just going to take out the reference to the Fremont style.
