Routes Climbed: Old Mans, Ecstasy, & Ye Gods and Little Fishes
Great climbing and wide variety of routes. This was my first multi-pitch trad climb.

Got the T shirts to prove it
This was an impromptu trip for my sister and I this unseasonably warm Thanksgiving weekend. Fantastic weather and views for my sister's first real rock climb (Old Ladies). She was very happy to have earned the right to buy a Seneca "Climbing Rocks" T shirt.

Beautiful colors
Hiked up to the viewing platform and then scrambled to the "top" of the formation. What great views of the valley below - especially with the fall colors!
Great trad areas!! Nice and Steep...the swimming hole on the river is great too!!!

DC's Eldo...
amazing rock formation. being on the summit of the south peak was unreal. got to follow some really sweet routes; Green Wall, Ye Gods, The Burn. also (thankfully) got to lead the first pitch of Totem, and drool at the rest.

Up again
Did a repeat of the route me and a friend did in winter to get to the north summit. On the next day we tried to get up skyline to the south summit, put it started storming so we bailed.

Not Sure what route
My first trad climbing experience. Climbed with the Ohio State University Mountaineering club. Not sure what route, but it was pretty easy. Summit was still just as good of a view though.

Seneca Rocks
Climbed via the Seneca Rocks Trail. Nice hike and views from the platform on top. Scrambled on rocks above platform and then hiked to the true summit of the mountain. Looks like very few people climb all of the way to the top. The other side of the mountain is even more beautiful.
Route Climbed: Choose your own adventure on the left formation Date Climbed: 23 December 05
Very fun climb in winter conditions--ice and snow on shelves made what would have been easy 4th and 5th class climbing a fun adventure. Nobody was out at the park except for hunters... peaceful day alone on the formation!
Took the trail up to overlook, jumped the railing and scrambled up and out across the top of the formation...awesome views and exposure for a rock climbing wannabe... that part of WV is beautiful...
Route Climbed: Either toproped or seconded on the following routes: Soler, Conn's East Direct, Alcoa Presents, Orange Aid, Ecstasy, Triple S, Sunshine, West Pole (P1-2) linked up to P2 of Bring On The Nubiles Date Climbed: Aug 13 - 14, 2004
My first multi-pitch trad experience. I basically got the grand tour, got on some really classic routes in Seneca. Very fun! Thanks to Hung, who led everything we climbed.
Route Climbed: Conns' East, Le Gourmet Direct, Front C, Banana, Gendarme Date Climbed: July 86
Climbed with Steve Must and UC climbing club. Did not know that the top of the Conns' East flake has a couple of bolts now. It used to have a manky WWII piton and I felt better after we backed it up with #1 or 2 friend. The Gendarme tipped over in 1987, but it was pretty exciting in 1986-glad I got to follow it but found the unclip at the summit to do the rappell from the Gendarme to be a puckering experience.
Route Climbed: Conn East, Critter Crack, others Date Climbed: July 2001
Great place to climb in the East. Spent two days climbing various routes. Wonderful rock, challenges for just about any level, and nice casual environment. HIghly recommended.
A buddy & myself, were there taking a 3-day lead climbing course. What an excellent place for trad-climbing! It's in a scenic area, with a small-time country feel to it. There's good camping close by. Just avoid the weekends!
