Leisurely hike with Doug, Jeff, Judy, Taylor, and Tommy. We ended up at Glacier Point after. Amazing clear views with amazing friends.
Great little rest hike. Views from the top are great 360 degrees. Easy for everyone even with the snow on top.
I've heard of Yosemite... but being from Utah, never really felt the need to explore other national parks, since we are so blessed with an abundance of playgrounds here. But wow, Yosemite might be the most breathtaking of all the national parks that I have been to. What an incredible place!
Easy day hike along with Taft Point.
From the trailhead, enjoyed the insane views, then down to Glacier Point. Climbed again the next day with family. Be aware there are many yellow jackets up there.
Spent the day here at sunset with my husband on a long weekend camping trip. Although I have been here before, the views never disappoint.
ran up after sunset on the way home from Sequoia National Park. First time was just before sunset 5-22-12 with wife.
A perfect place to get the 'big picture' view of Yosemite.
an easy walk in the morning after a heavy rain & snow yesterday in September!
With Matt and Nora. A loop that included Taft Point. Breathtaking!
Done several times, approximate date of last ascent. Great views for little effort, and relatively uncrowded (by Yosemite standards).
Fun hike with the family after a drive to Glacier Point. The views were great, and my kids loved it.
Short hike trying to keep my legs loose after a long hike with ample elevation gain the day before. Didn't want to go to the tourist trap go Glacier Point, so I picked Sentinel Dome instead. Was very pleasantly surprised by the amazing views. One of the highlights was being able to look across the valley to see Eagle Peak and the Yosemite Falls trail that I had just hiked. Views of Half Dome were awesome, too.
Climbed Steck Salathe (IV 5.10b) with Alix. A yosemite test-piece for wide climbing. Great day out, had a lot of fun. Burly in spots, but very enjoyable for the most part.
Nice hike with the whole family. Great views of the valley!
After winter's rest, the Glacier Point Road open again for the season, it's back to work for the 'ol rock. And on this day, they came. And came.
Great start to a trip in Yosemite; hike also included Taft Point and a drive to Glacier Point. I object to the main page, though, as I'm sure it has enough prominence to qualify as a mountain by some definitions.
Climbed via the 4-mile trail with a team of ten. Visited Glacier Point first then hiked up to Sentinel Dome. A beautiful place to take in the sights. Continued down the Panoramic trail and back to base camp (Upper Pines).
Perfect YNP dome intro hike
First trip was my first go at snow camping, and backpacking in the winter, and first time cross country skiing! Spent two nights camped halfway to Glacier Point, and went to the dome and the point on day two (January 25, 2003). Great weather but we had way too much crap with us, and the nights were so long. But definitely a great way to spend a Super Bowl weekend. Splendid time to go!
Second trip was a quick hike after Illilouette Ridge and Ostrander Rocks in June 2012 straight up the southeast side.
