Taken from the first notch that is reached on the shortcut from Ptarmigan Tunnel to Redgap Pass, the red slopes of Seward Mountain are visible. Redgap Pass lies directly below Seward at the base of its southwest ridge. Several of massive Yellow Mountain's prominent summits are visible in the distance. The tree-covered slopes to the right lead down to the Kennedy Creek drainage.
