Went quick from Shaw to North Mtn and it was a sufferfest. First hard miles in a couple months. We were late so had to run fairly quick down to the car as well.

Loop with North Mountain
I got very fortunate with unseasonably mild temps (started in the 70s, ended in the 80s) for my visit to god preserve. Still a hot, thirsty day with no shade. Glad to see so many folks out getting fit!

Overcast and cool
Was looking for a short and easy hike to test my ankle which I had twisted badly a couple of weeks ago. Ankle was fine. Nice hike and not too crowded like some other trails in the Phoenix Mountains.

Loop hike
Followed trails 100 and 306 to the top and down the south ridge to view the old Cloud Nine restaurant ruins. Started at dawn to beat the heat, covered 4.7 miles in 90 minutes.

Nice Hike, but get there early!
Nice hike, but be sure to get there early. The parking lot fills up quickly. A great hike to do in the early morning, the sun looks awesome coming up over North Mountain!

Relaxing
Climbed this one in the morning on a night I had to work. Nice trail that feels more secluded than most of the Phoenix Mountains. The views were prettier too. Not so cluttered with houses on the back side of the mountain.
