Ski Descent via Sheep Creek  Sucess!

About a 5 mile approach to sheep lake then skinned up the NE ridge. Very grizzly dense area - we followed tracks all the way up to 10,000 ft. Fun ski run down the NE shoulder. The north couloir looked awesome, but was debris filled.

Alt. Approach  Sucess!

Camped out the night before at the TH for Coffin Lakes (South side of Hebgen Lk). Easy trail up to Upper Coffin; the Crux of this approach was the bush-wack from Upper Coffin the the saddle between S. pt of Sheep and Coffin Mtn. From the saddle it was Class II all the way to the peak and incredibly enjoyable. After hanging out on the peak for awhile my dog and I made our way over to Coffin Mtn. (a must-do; the views looking back at S. pt of Sheep are amazing and its a super easy peak to bag from the saddle). All in all the GPS said about 20 miles with a little over 5000' gain; took about 9 hours car-to-car.

Sheep Creek  Sucess!

Came up from Sheep Creek and Sheep Lake to the top and then looped over Coffin Mountain, eventually coming back down to the main trail. Following the steep but grassy ramp to the summit ridge from Sheep Lake was straightforward. This was a really fun hike with great views overall.

nice hike  Sucess!

beautiful hike. Spent the night at trailhead for an early start. Weather was perfect. View of Tetons were a hazy silhouette from fires in the park.

From the south  Sucess!

Hiked the ridges from the Fremont COHP north to this summit. Some significant rise and fall in elevation, but the terrain is open and most places have a fairly gentle slope. An easy, enjoyable time.
