This is an magnificent drive starting at Front Royal. Started this scenic beauty after visiting the hallowed ground of Antietam battlefield. The road climbs up and up, then stays there. All Americans should, once if they can. drive the entire parkway clear down to Asheville,NC.

Skyline Drive! Beautiful Valleys
Again, an estimate on the date traveled. I drove through while in college on a summer outdoors road trip. Skyline drive was very scenic. We hiked to the summit of Hawksbill, which is the Park's HP. This Natl Park is part of Americana........

Quick drive out, no people. nice place. would not want to be within 100 miles of this place during 4th of july or labor day.
Only visited cause I was driving by. It is beautiful, worth a visit, but too low and easy for my taste.

I have climbed dozens of different peaks in the northern, central and southern sections of the park, including numerous unnamed peaks and peaks with no trails to their summits.

Great views.
Different from most of the NPs that I frequent out West, but views are nice and it's rich in history and lots of waterfalls.

Many summits and trailsI spent three days here in 2015 and barring my week out in Colorado that September, this was the best trip of the year.

Teething Ground!I first hiked in this park in the 1960s and last hiking was in 2008 or so. I need to get back there!
