Challenging to get done in a few hours before sunset
A buddy and I went up here after work on Friday, and it was a challenge that involved some heavy breathing in order to reach the top in only a couple hours from where we parked on Key Ranch property. Truly, it was a great time out, and we had the good fortune of seeing amazing views of the Adobe Range and the farther-away Ruby Mountain District in clear weather. It was also a treat to find one of the two government seals placed there in 1940. Would've been better to have had a little more time to enjoy the mountain and scenery, so next time, an earlier start time will have to be in the planning.
Very hazy day on my first hike of 2010. This is another nice peak among several others I've hiked in the Adobes. We saw an injured Golden eagle in Jackstone Canyon that we called in and 7 or 8 mule deer up on Sherman.
