Started at Forsee Creek Trailhead, made way to north ridge, ascended to Anderson Flat and turned left. Descended via Forsee Creek. Fun route with a tiny bit of Class 3 thrown in to increase the fun factor.
One of four summits in a day on the San Bernardino Ridge. (Sheilds, Anderson, East and San Berdo) Took a personal day off of work to do this as a training hike for my upcoming Rainier attempt. Joined by Chris, Iain, and Tom.
up via san bernardino peak divide trail, then san bernardino, san bernardino east, anderson, shields, alto diablo, charlton, little charlton, san gorgonio, jepson, little dobbs, dobbs, and then down dobbs' west ridge to vivian creek trail and out.
9 peaks traverse
From Alto Diablo, nice rocky peak
San Gorgonio Peak Traverse: #4
Fourth peak of five on my San Bernardino Mountain ridge traverse from Forsee Creek. Peaks like this that are just a pile of rocks always fascinate me...Beautiful, enjoyable hike! Cool, safe water flowing from Trail Fork Spring too.
Bonus summit after tagging Anderson. More challenging scramble to top, but better views of the entire San G area.
Hiked up from Forsee Creek TH.
Last peak for the day
The fourth peak of a very enjoyable 5-peak tour including SB, SB East, Anderson, & Alto Diablo. Nice views on this peak.
Windy and cold as the storm moved through. Nice above the clouds.
Sorry, I am just not entertained by the forest until it opens up around 10K'. Zoned out until I reached Anderson Flat; really dug the rocks up Pantyshield....I mean, Shields. Interesting summit. Not a soul in sight either but I did have a feathered friend come check me out. A Cooper's Hawk sat not 10' away on a branch and watched me watch him for a moment. What a thrill!
Great hike and only saw one other group the whole time. Up and down in 6 hours.
Climbed all 9 peaks between Gorgonio and Bernardino with BSA Venture Crew 51 from La Mesa, CA. Beautiful weather all Memorial Day weekend!
Nice view from the summit as we continued our 4th of July weekend attempt to summit all 9 peaks, camping on the summit of San G to enjoy the fireworks below.
Hit Shields, Anderson, San Bernardino East and San Bernardino in a 19.3 mile loop via Washington Monument. Great day.
We had camped at Trail Fork Springs the day before and then started hiking along the divide early in the morning. Shields Peak was the first peak of the day.
