CoolNice shot! I love all of those pinnacles in the background.
The rock reminds of some slab a bit closer to home.

Re: CoolThanks Martin!
The slab is VERY easy - full of dishes and features. Nothing to do with the stuff in D-town. It IS a great area though esp. when the sun is shining warmly :)

Funky rock! This slab looks weird but fun!
Looks like you guys kicked some major ass again!

Re: Funky rock!THanks Misha. The slab on top of this route is really trivial (low 5th class). The poor qual. of the photo doesn't show the many dishes etc. well. As for the ass kicking....not sure we did, but we did try to escape (again!) the freakin' rain.
Nice job on Russell - just read Steve's TR. Sounds like good (punishing) times :)
Sooooooo, when are you guys coming to enjoy some volcanic rock up here? You know the ol' Smithy?

Is January weather too risky? Our next two months are pretty busy but January is still wide open. Can't wait to see you guys.

Re: Funky rock!Misha,
We've had good weather at Smith in January (cold but climbable in the sun definitely) but once in a blue moon there might be a snow storm that rolls through the area. If that happens, there's always a nice hike that can be done as a backup plan. Let us know.
Looking forward to seeing you guys as well.
take care

Re: great slab!thanks Charles. Yeah, it's really not as "slabby" as the photo would suggest - it's more featured than it shows (5.6 at most I'd think???).....though the wetness adds a touch of spice to it :)
