Signpost at the turnoff to the Großer Moosstock

A dirt road on the southern flanks of the Großer Moosstock connects the villages of Ahornach and Rein in Taufers. The road is closed to the general public, but as I was hitch hiking just above Ahornach, still before the barrier, I got lucky when a car passed by that had local business up there. That saved me a few hundred meters of ascent, and also brought me to a different route than the normal one. Since my map showed a dotted line, I figured I could try it. This is the signpost along that road, where I started hiking. Normally this route up the Großer Moosstock is done from Rein in Taufers, but the ride saved me over 400 m of the ascent. 27 July 2014.
