These cacti are as abundant in Red Rocks as the Buckhorn Chollas. They are also sometimes called Golden Chollas. It all depends on the color of their spines.
Cholla cacti bloom in Red Rocks in early June. The flowers will be closed early in the morning, but will open as the day goes by.
