Silver Eagle Peak, as seen from the southern slopes of Beckler Peak.
Silver Eagle Peak is located within Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Due to a clerical error in the mid-1900s, USGS maps (and maps that were created with them as references) misidentify the locations of Silver Eagle Peak and its neighboring counterpart Bald Eagle Peak, swapping their positions. Contrary to current USGS maps, Silver Eagle Peak (6241' elevation) is in actuality the shorter of the two peaks and located west of Bald Eagle Peak. "Green Trails" maps correctly identify the location and name of these two peaks.
