Approached from Mammoth over Duck Pass, then on to Purple Lake, Cascade Valley and Long Canyon to camp at Beetlebug Lake. Next day climbed Silver Peak via its NW ridge: go to Sand Lake, hike up talus right of a steep tower, gain the ridge, and follow it to the summit of Silver Peak (Class 2). Descended the East side to a small tarn above Beetlebug Lake, then proceeded on some benches back to the forested area NW of Beetlebug Lake. Trip report.
We came in from Onion Springs trailhead, base-camped at Big Margaret Lake and ascended from there as a day hike. Smoke in the distance but otherwise a great view!

After catching dinner in the lake the night before, I got up early for the peak the next day. I found the chute to the saddle to be quite loose and disagreeable, but besides that the route was splendid and the view of all the alpine lakes and far away peaks was fantastic.

East Face
I planned on taking the ridge line that leads up out of Baby lake but then decided the face looked like more fun. I enjoyed this route, and found quite a bit of fun scrambling to do. Descended down towards sedge lake and then back to baby.

Big Margaret Lake
Took the bumpy 4x4 road up from Lake Edison to Onion Spring Meadow, hiked over Arch Rock area, then camped an enjoyable night at Big Margaret Lake before a short run to the summit in the morning.
Camped at Devil's Bathtub. Wound up writing the Silver Peak page and a route description. Actually the whole point of this trip was to check out Mono Hot Springs, but I ran out of time. Will have to pick some other peak in the area and try again.
