With Desolation Peak
Nice training peak hike in early season up Beartrap Fork to Silver Peak and then Desolation Peak. Hiked with RDB. Nice, cool day. Just a little bit of snow near the summit.

Beartrap Fork
Hiked up Beartrap Fork which was steeper than I thought it would be. Visited Desolation Lake and then bagged Silver Peak before descending.
Scrambled up here on the way to Desolation. Nice to leave the heavy mountain bike traffic on the trail to hike on the ridge between Silver and Desolation. Love the views toward the Brighton area from here.

Beartrap Canyon
Gorgeous snowshoe hike with a friend day after President's Day - seems relatively low avalanche danger in most of this canyon. Saw 1 snowboarder and no other people the entire afternoon. Was such a pristine feeling canyon it's a bummer that when you hit the ridge that the ski resort ruins that feeling. :(

Approached from Willow Heights trailhead. Overnighted above willow lake. Hiked ridgeline to top. Wonderful wildflowers the whole way. Trailless. Why is it necessary to have three geological survey markers on this summit?

a bluebird day
first time at top in winter (though a very warm spring-like day). Snowshoed up from Willow TH to saddle separating Beartrap from Willow (9600') then NE to peak.
Just last Saturday the last time. I usually traverse over this point going back and forth along the PC Ridgeline on ski tours.

Climbed up Scott Hill from the Guardsman Pass road. spent a night on top of Scott with perfect weather. Then hiked down the ridge, checking out the views from 10009, Silver, and Desolation Peaks. Then hiked down the Desolation Lake Trail back to where my truck was waiting.
