Barking Quads!  Sucess!

My brother just bought a home at the foot of this area and I hadn't hiked anything strenous in over 8 months. He talked me into going to Flatiron via this route. At age 59 and out of shape for this I can say I'm walking a bit rigidly today! Great hike and killer views although high clouds moved in before we reached Flatiron which made for flat light photographs. The site to the left of the top of the draw where the plane crash happened two months ago is very obvious and blackened. The temperature was perfect causing the trail to resemble Angels Landing crowds.

Lotsa fun  Sucess!

Lotsa fun but I was off route after following some bad beta. Climbed the ridge to the west of it and encountered lose scree with pokey plants all around and ended up doing some class 4 scrambling. Went down the proper route. Still, a very enjoyable day, and the route (when I finally obtained it) was fun.

Great hike!

Great hike! Not as beautiful and green as last year, but still worth it. I recommend going as earlier in the morning as possible, the trail gets extremely busy by 10am. You want to be down by then.
