Sketchy Terrain

Sketchy Terrain

This was the crux of the trip, below was quite perilous with cliffs which some can't be seen in this photo. Taken June 11, 2011 on Dragontail Peak.

You know

how I said it's not as steep as it looks from the top? Apparently I lied. Sorry about that.

Re: You know

I'll admit it's this kind of terrain that scares me the most. When I cannot feel my feet, see where my steps are, the snow is loose, the exposure is bad, it's very steep, and my steps are breaking from under me. That's when it becomes a bit frightening! But I gotta admit you did what was necessary, you knew that you would not want to have to re-climb this slope once you were down it, and we did not want to be separated, but if this slope were any worse I would have to complain to you. ;-)

Re: Josh...

We had no idea that a rope would be needed for this section. This is certainly not my ideal form of mountaineering, also there was nothing to protect with considering that the snow was loose.
