Clearing up storm damage on the way  Sucess!

The recent Noreaster dropped a few trees on the Long Trail, including one at the intersection of the Skylight Pond Trail and the Long Trail which just about buried the wooden sign with directions, so be aware. I cleared out as much as I could while I was climbing but what remains is either axe or chainsaw work. Took me five hours and fifty three minutes from car to car with about twenty minutes spent on the summits of Bread Loaf and Wilson. Bread Loaf had a clear spur trail just to the left of the actual summit leading to a fine rock overlook on the west side.

Rainy Journey  Sucess!

Went out scouting data for the route and gathering pictures. As usual the weather didn't cooperate so the pictures aren't as crisp as I'd like but the hike was good and tiring. Got a chance to try out some new equipment the wife gave me for my Birthday and to trash a new set of boots (review to follow). 9+ rainy miles with maybe 20 minutes of stop time over 6 hours. Lots of folks at the Emily Procter shelter, didn't bother to hit the skyline lodge which I should have to get water but pumped from a stream lower down later on. Tiring but fun day.
