Easy climb
Followed the yellow trail from Slide Mountain Trailhead to the red trail leading to the top. Skies were clear and temperatures weren't too high making for a perfect day of hiking!

Snowshoe
Climbed from the Slide Mtn. parking lot on Rt. 47 via the Phoenicia-East and Wittenberg-Slide-Cornell Trails with snowshoes. Had a fun time with my wife as we climbed up but didn't spend much time on top.

Narnia?
Slide, buried in deep white, brought to life vivid dreams of a winter wonderland.

Silver and Cold
The path was challenging without snowshoes, yet each step yielded the rewards of a breathtaking winter landscape frozen in time. Fleeting sunshine, tunnels of snowbound evergreens, ice-clad creeks and the delicate imprints of rabbits' feet embued the silent landscape with life and wonder.

Cold, snowshoes
Very cold day. Used snowshoes. Some deep snow near the summit but not really any views. Nonetheless, a memorable solo hike.

Nice Warm up hike
This was fun to do in the winter given all the snow we had to get through, and it being a short hike. So it took a while but was just a warm up for the next day. Perfect little warm up hike, but it was fogged in at the top.

I Hate Catskill Trails
Maybe I'm just spoiled, but the majority of trails (maintained) that I traveled out West were not so rough (aside from the length and altitude.) These trails out here are closer to 2nd class hiking. I did love the approach from the East, lots of great class 3, and steep, steep sections of trail. Not so great a view from the top. Wittenberg, and the ridge to Cornell was better

Slide Mountain
Climbed via the Curtis-Ormsbee Trail from Winnisook. My first time in the Catskills. An easy hike up a Slide's gentle western slope. The summit was fogged in and there was still some early morning rhyme ice trees.

Climbed the easy side Christmas Day 2007. About 3 inches of snow at the base increased to 8 inches on the summit. Clouds above 3500 feet obscured any view. Still a nice day to be hiking and to break out the snowshoes.
