Snake country

Snake country

Don't see it? Its there, just a couple feet from Greg's feet, was this "non rattler". Greg called it a "corn" snake due to its colorings. It slithered away from us into the rocks. It had been sunning itself when we came across it on this talus slope as we worked our way around the obstacle rock formation. 6-1-08

Bull(Gopher) Snake

Hey Dean I think this is called a Bull(Gopher) Snake. They look very similar to the Corn snakes we have back east.

Pick it up man!

If it don't rattle, go for it! You know I would have. I beleive that is the kind of snake that I'm holding in my picture.

Re: Pick it up man!

Shortly after I snapped this pic, he reached down to pick it up but it slithered into its rocky abode. I do believe it was the same kind of snake you were holding.

In Arizona,

if it doesn't prick you, sting you,
jab you or rattle at you; then
you're not living in Arizona. :)

Re: In Arizona,

Arizona is full of pointy things, that is for sure. I found some more of that red paint for you. You can now re paint the painted desert.
Enjoy. ; )
