The humidity was killing me-continued onto Lundin
Trail gets right to business... up and up, nice falls, and good summit views down into the Middle Fork
Conditions couldn't have been more perfect- blue bird skies and nice styrofoam snow. Ascended from Alpental. Got an early start, but not so early that I shared the summit with the 15 people I passed just before the summit. Had the entire summit to myself- watched two climbers ascend neighboring Red Mountain while I was up there.
super clear day views of Rainier and the surrounding mountains were amazing.
After hiking Si and loving the scramble up the Haystack, my daughter was a bit disappointed by the lack of scrambling opportunities on route. She enjoyed the great views, though!
Sunny and hot. Neat views to the East. On the return trip, saw some elk standing with their mouths open in the I-90 median near North bend.
Nice short, accessible day trip in the winter. I had the mountain to myself. Views were great...from Baker to Rainier, Stuart to the Olympics. Snow was very firm...glad to have the crampons and ice axe.
Awesome views from the top - super clear day. For some reason it was hot as a mofo up there (its winter right?). Glissaded most the way down, including a little creek valley which was like a looge (sp?)
if your knees didn't hurt before they may now!
Greg and I got a late start, 2pm. There was a fresh dusting of snow. The slow melt off from this made the rocks slippery. 2 hours up and 2 down.
A great hike to enjoy the many views of the region.
A fun scramble with a touch of Class 3.
some really cool cloud play on the lemahs. mmmmmm lemah.
One of my favorite quick hikes close to Seattle. Interesting trail, not many people, and awesome summit views! Always have to be careful coming down, and it's definitely a knee grinder.
Great fast winter ascent. Really got the blood moving.
Did this little mountain a lot as a kid. Love Cave Ridge!
Route was totally devoid of people until the top, then all sort of people appeared as if from nowhere. Hardly surprising though, since it was a wonderful day.
OSAT climb in the fall of 1993. It was a great day, and brought me to within 39 vertical feet of my first 100,000 vertical year.
Combined with Guye Pk; awesome climb. Lots of fun glissading!
Fun combo with Guye Peak.
