on trail and snow  Sucess!

The week after I scrambled Guye, I went back. There was a nice trail most the way up, I believe 2004 was our bad snow year? I've gone up twice afterwards in May '08/'09 in the snow. Although the trail is very nice, I do love the snow.

Superb mountain  Sucess!

No. 012, personal climber's log.

Nice sunny day and warm, pretty consistent trail grade which I liked. Met lots of nice people along the way, seems to be a fairly popular peak.

Blue bird skies and a summit to myself.  Sucess!

Conditions couldn't have been more perfect- blue bird skies and nice styrofoam snow. Ascended from Alpental. Got an early start, but not so early that I shared the summit with the 15 people I passed just before the summit. Had the entire summit to myself- watched two climbers ascend neighboring Red Mountain while I was up there.

With my 12-yr old daughter...  Sucess!

After hiking Si and loving the scramble up the Haystack, my daughter was a bit disappointed by the lack of scrambling opportunities on route. She enjoyed the great views, though!

Solo outing in July  Sucess!

Sunny and hot. Neat views to the East. On the return trip, saw some elk standing with their mouths open in the I-90 median near North bend.

Snoqualmie Peak  Sucess!

Nice short, accessible day trip in the winter. I had the mountain to myself. Views were great...from Baker to Rainier, Stuart to the Olympics. Snow was very firm...glad to have the crampons and ice axe.

West Face  Sucess!

Awesome views from the top - super clear day. For some reason it was hot as a mofo up there (its winter right?). Glissaded most the way down, including a little creek valley which was like a looge (sp?)

New Snow  Sucess!

Greg and I got a late start, 2pm. There was a fresh dusting of snow. The slow melt off from this made the rocks slippery. 2 hours up and 2 down.

SE ridge numerous times  Sucess!

One of my favorite quick hikes close to Seattle. Interesting trail, not many people, and awesome summit views! Always have to be careful coming down, and it's definitely a knee grinder.

Alpental Route  Sucess!

Route was totally devoid of people until the top, then all sort of people appeared as if from nowhere. Hardly surprising though, since it was a wonderful day.

Alpental - Cave Ridge  Sucess!

OSAT climb in the fall of 1993. It was a great day, and brought me to within 39 vertical feet of my first 100,000 vertical year.
