ski in August??was it worth climbing Hocharn with ski in August? For me June was already too less snow. Did you just take the picture in this part of a second when your fellow fell into a crevasse?! Did something happen? And finally: I would never use jeans trousers in the mountains!

Re: ski in August??1. Yes it was worth climbing Hocharn in August. After heavy snow falls it was possible to ski until the end of Pilatus Kees which makes a vertical distance of 1000m (better skiing down than walking :)) As I love skiing I would have done it for less too.
2. It is me on the photo and the photo was just taken in the second when I broke through.
3. I had luck, I was too fast to fall into the crevasse.
4. Consider this was 13 years ago when I was a poor student who couldn´t aford expensive sportswear, we also didn´t know anything about Goretex.

Re: With compliments..Well, the photographer was lucky because he took the phote in the right moment and I was lucky because I was fast and could reach the other side of the crevasse :-)
