Snow Worm

Small black-colored worms, such as this one, were found atop and within the morning snow near Ten-Four Mountain and Haystack Mountain, in Snohomish County, Washington. I have been told that although these worms were acting similar to glacial ice worms, these were probably just young earthworms. Any insight would be much appreciated. Photo taken on April 3, 2011.
