Solo. First time up Snowdon. High wind, low visibility and it rained on me for hours. Nothing quite like being all alone on Crib Goch. Tons of exposure and it's scary in the rain. What a day

Climbed Snowdon
I climbed Snowdon via the miners track route on one of the hottest days of the year.
Started climbing in the early morning and reached the summit at about midday.
Didn't actually get to stand on the very top because of the large queue of people waiting there.
Didn't want to wait around on such a hot day only to go a few feet higher.
Snowdon was my first mountain of the 3 peaks challenge and an important part of my preparation for Kilimanjaro.

Yr Wyddfa - Pyg / Miners
Reached Pen-Y-Pass at 2am, reaching the summit at 5am to catch the sunrise. I didn't see a single person before reaching the convergence of the Pyg and Llanberis routes. 2 People had camped at the top, getting very little sleep.
Was lucky to have a cloud inversion at sunrise, and then took the Miner's track down circling around the Lakes, back to Pen-Y-Pass.

Yr Wyddfa - Watkin / Rhyd Ddu
Unpacked in Beddgelert and walked from the town to the far southern side of Llyn Dinas, where we camped overnight. The next morning, each carrying around 15 kilos, we circles around the top of the Lake before starting the Watkin Path.
We walked through the wooded area before it cleared, and followed the trail above the stream. We passed the Gladstone Rock and the abandoned mining buildings, before the steeper ascent to the top.
We took the Rhyd Ddu Path down in the rain, catching the Sherpa Bus at the bottom back to Beddgelert.

My first summit of Snowdon completed at night. Visibility down to 2 metres due to heavy fog. Made it even more of a challenge for my first attempt.

Pleased to say I’ve seen the top of this wondeful hill ten times now. Give it a few years and my little boy will see it for the first time

Snowdon - the Pyg Track
Took the Pyg track going up in poor weather. Got to top in zero visibility. Walked down next to train (on Llanberis path) and caught it (the train) a mile down the path. It was the best $6(pounds) I ever spent as I was very cold. Enjoyed a hot bath at the Victoria Hotel in Llanberis! What a great trip on my first time to Great Britain as I was also able to climb Ben Nevis three days before.

miner track
Still some people climbing at 7 pm with rain and Wind on the top (no more than 7 degrees Celsius). Not the perfect weather but we made it!
easy hike. the final part is steeper while there's quite a long flat approach on a good road up to +/-600m from where start the real path. Lots of people, for sure other routes are more interesting

Sunny Snowdon!
Up Rhyd Ddu and back down via the Aran/southern quarry area (not one of the official 6 routes but a great path through the deserted quarry, ending at the Rhyd Ddu Parking).
Yes, crowded at the top but that is to be expected since a train goes up to the summit. Kinda cool to see the train crawling up the angled slope as we hiked up. Sunny weather gave us incredbile views all around....a great beginning for our wanderings in North Wales!
Climbed Snowdon as the final peak in a 3 Peaks charity challenge. Nasty rain and wind all the way up. But, it was still an enjoyable climb. I've never been so glad to get into dry clothes after!
