From Snowslide Lake  Sucess!

Trip beta/lessons learned: Head up through the forest from social trails along south side of lake (we started from the north side and had a helluva bushwhack). Head for a slot between the two cliffy areas above you or you can skirt just to the right (north) of the pond. Don't aim for the pond itself, as it's encircled by a cliff band. Gain the ridge. You’ll soon come to some impassable cliffs on both sides. Stay to the base of those cliffs on the west (back) side until you see an opening that bears up to the right. That’s the quick way back up to the ridge. If you miss seeing this point you can go down around the base of the cliffs, then head back up to the ridge. Summit block scramble to the top. The summit register is in bad shape. It’s a narrow pvc tube with screw top and 1-2 papers inside, and the one at the bottom is jammed tight – a pretty useless register.

We made it to the summit in 1.5 hours from Snowslide Lake. Incredible views. The morning before, we had backpacked into Snowslide lake, then day hiked to Maki lake, then attempted Sawtooth Peak, which becomes class 3 along the ridge, picking through large blocks – slow going. Too late in the day, we had another quarter mile of the same to go and turned back. I believe the views on Snowslide are better than Sawtooth, and getting to the top was certainly more fun.

Via Golden Lake  Sucess!

Steep hike up to Golden Lake, then great views from up high. With Splattski or would have been tough to find the way. Beautiful day, cold and super clear. Trip Report

Great glissading and quite a ridge  Sucess!

#2 of a double bag(two mountains in one day) and quite an amazing hike. Scrambled up the northwest ridge and there's quite a bit of exposure up there. Class 4 scrambles all the way but the rock is granite so the grips are sure. So many lady bugs at the peak. I've never seen so many in one spot my whole life. I think we had the best glissading experience to date coming down the northwest ridge. Great hike. Bagged it!

Great ridge  Sucess!

Josh and I climbed via the NE ridge on the way down from Sawtooth. That NE ridge sure is a blast, and a great little scramble! We descended the NW ridge and had fun glissading down the snow.

Nice Hike  Sucess!

It was a cloudy wet day with lots of snow. Didn't get much of a view at the top because of the weather but on the way down the blue sky opened up and began to mock me. This is a really beautiful area!
