“My father considered a
walk among the mountains as the equivalent of churchgoing.” – Aldous Huxley.
In a bid to make me “face the world” and make me “independent”, my father decided to send me on a trek to the Himalaya. That was in 1993, when I trekked to Pindari Glacier in the Kumaon Himalaya. I was introduced to this by my good friend – Anshuman Sengupta, who was an avid trekker himself! In the following year – we all – buddies from school went to the Har-ki-Dun trek, and I was hooked on to it. I was 15 when I started, so I thought – why not get my son started much earlier? And, hence – his 1st trek ever happened – that too in the Himalaya!
This is a page dedicated to the documentation of all the treks / trips / wanderings that we do in the mountains.
