Hi Jacek, How is it possible to have the source of a river so close to the top of a mountain? Are there some much higher mountains nearby?
Thanks in advance,
Marc, that is my homeland -rolling hills, rains a lot, and the whole region of the Czech Republic is called Morava. The river flows into Danube… I used to send paper boats on this river and was hoping those would reach the Black Sea when I was little.
Thank you Jacek. You have answered my question. It rains a lot. So, the source itself may not be very large, but when many smaller creeks join together near the lower lands, it turns into a river.
Yes, it rains a lot plus that this spring is about 130 ft below the summit, which is rather flat, broad and covered with a thick layer of turf. And you are right Marc, soon this little trickle is joined by several others and already down in the valley looks like a decent creek. Such pix may make Liba homesick but I don't think she would exchange any of the rivers here for the Gunnison :)
OOOOPS, Liba. SORRY, I thought you were Jacek. But, thanks nonetheless, you both have answered my question.
Nevim Jacku… ja myslim, ze se vratim domu.
Ale przyczyną nie będzie rzeka/Ale pricinou ne bude reka? :)
