Went with family. Wife and kids stopped about 500 feet from summit. To hot and tired at 10:00a.m. First time out alone with family and three kids (4 months, 2 years and 4 years old). Good days and exercise. My 4 year old hiked a ton, was really proud of what he could do.
Ken Jones and I had to hike this one from the road as the gate is now locked which means additional elevation gain and distance are added to the hike. We found the register left by Andy Martin and Mark Nichols at the so called summit area. I added a container that was big enough to fit the smaller one of Andy's inside. A beautiful day and Ken and I enjoyed the hike. This was my second visit but the first time it was pretty much snow covered.
Quick hike up to this P1K before having to be to work at 10 am. RT just over an hour. Coming from SL, I didn't quite make it to work on time.
First we went to South Mt East and 6493 and then we headed over to this one.
My first summit via snowshoes. Hiked from Mormon trail hwy up one of the ridges. Several Golden Eagles soaring overhead at the summit. Great views. I was particularly amazed at how clear Nebo was to the south and east.
Dec 23, 2013 - Snowshoed again with 6 students from GHS. It was the first time snowshoeing for 5 of them.
Nice hike with good views of the Stansbury Mountains and Oquirrh Mountains.
Tested out some new tires on my jeep. Drove in from the west side to within 300 vertical feet from the summit. Easy warm up. Did Bald and Sharp mountains next
Views down low but nothing but cloud up at the top. Report at http://www.willhiteweb.com/stansbury_mountains/south_mountain_west_277.htm
Needed to get out. Greg and I drove out to this little peak for a nice winter hike.
Nice little hike up the ridge to a snowy summit.
