"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Old Stomping GroundsUsed to hike to all these different rock tops with my buddy growing up as a favorite weekend getaway. Most recently I connected them all doing a section hike of the AT from PA to WV. Think they were more enjoyable spending time at 1 or 2 of them at a time but it was still neat to connect them all.

Day HikeStarted my hike at Rt 77 along the A.T. and headed South to Rt 40. I took my time bird watching and enjoying the views, especially at Black Rock. Trip took about 5 hours but like I said I took my time. Was a fun hike, looking forward to doing it again

Route Climbed: Black Rock Route 3 TimesLed some friends up the Black Rock route about 5 years ago. Came down in a downpour. Repeated twice more summer of 2006. The route is more fun than the standard trail, rocky, with a solid grade. Can get slippery when wet as it follows a streambed. Anyone who is interested in South Mountain use the contact info.
