South Peak

South Peak

The south peak at Seneca Rocks is reputed to be the highest Class 5-only summit east of Devil's Tower (I am guessing the spires of the Black Hills are not considered "peaks"). Routes climb the peak from all sides; the west face, shown here, has routes from 5.2 to harder than 5.10. Gunsight Notch is seen left of center. The notch to the right as seen here separates the main bulk of the peak from a smaller crag called the Cockscomb. Seneca Rocks, WV-- October 2010
